Educational and Developmental Consultations
Confidential appointments are available for individuals, couples and families, to work with a Educational and Developmental Psychologist on a range of concerns from early childhood to later adulthood, including:
- Concerns regarding a child's development, parent-child relationship, or sibling rivalry
- Parenting skills and managing a child's difficult temperament or behaviour
- Physical or sexual abuse, illness or injury
- Difficulties with transition or adjustment
- Learning difficulties
- Identity and sexuality issues and self esteem
- Social skills and coping with peer pressure
- Coping with stress at school or in the workplace
- Specific issues related to developmental stage (eg. adjusting to school, mid-life concerns, healthy ageing and coping with decline in function and increased dependency)
- Issues of loss or grief
We also provide educational and developmental assessments for children, adolescents, adults and the elderly, including:
- Assessment of disability and developmental disorders
- Intellectual and personality assessment
- Assessment of learning difficulties, such as dyslexia, language development, and attentional deficits.
- Assessment of behavioural difficulties
- Assessment of age related decline
- Assessment of social skills
As well as designing and implementing individual, group or family interventions, we are also able to liase with schools and other institutions to optimise outcome.
